MARSHALL CHEATHAM

Founder, CEO & Board President SPA

Marshall, a product of Chicago’s West Side, found his foundation in football and the Saint Andrews Hornets drum corps, developing discipline and leadership that would guide his life. He broke barriers as one of the first African-American football players at Vanderbilt before graduating from Tennessee State. His career spanned media, juvenile corrections, and youth empowerment, where he created programs that ignited hope and opportunity. A medical crisis transformed him into an advocate for organ donation, further showcasing his resilience. He now leads “Golf, Not Guns,” an initiative providing alternatives to violence and fostering life skills for youth across multiple states. An Everyday Heroes award recipient, Marshall continues to build bridges within his community, exemplifying the power of unwavering commitment to making a difference.


LE RON CARLTON

Executive Director, & Vice President SPA

Le Ron Carlton is a highly accomplished percussionist with a diverse background spanning music performance, education, and technology. His career has taken him from concert halls and Olympic stadiums to combat zones across multiple continents, where he has accumulated thousands of professional performances. A veteran of the US Army Band Program, Le Ron has served in numerous ensembles, including the 8th Army Band in Korea and the 1st Cavalry Division Band in Iraq. His resume includes performances for the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War at the Sejong Performing Arts Center, the University of Baghdad re-opening, Royal Australian Air Force Central Band Iraq Tour, and performances alongside artists like Toby Keith, BoA, Jose Feliciano, Lee Greenwood, and more.

Beyond his military service, Le Ron has performed with the Gospel Music Workshop Of America, Coastal Symphony of Georgia, Lance Reagan Deihl Band, Funky G Saxman, ARMY MWR Entertainment, and various other ensembles. He has also dedicated himself to accessible music education, teaching percussion at schools throughout Ohio. Most recently he’s worked full-time at large tech companies including VMware and holds many advanced professional technical certifications with an emphasis on IT Infrastructure & Architecture.


marco iannelliMARCO IANNELLI

Assistant Director, & Music Arranger

Marco Iannelli is a multi-talented musician, composer, and arranger based in Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Miami University, where he honed his skills as a pianist and tuba player. His passion for music extends to the marching arts, where he has experience as a performer, instructor, and designer. Iannelli marched with The Madison Scouts and Rhythm X, and has contributed his expertise to various ensembles including The Troopers, ConneXus Independent, and the Bluecoats Fellowship program. He currently serves as the Assistant Corps Director for The Columbus Saints, sharing his passion and knowledge with the next generation of performers.

EVAN ALEXANDER

System Administrator

Evan has been around the marching activity for almost a decade, starting as a student at Central Crossing High School in 2009 to working as a a member of the school’s marching band staff for many season. He also spent 3 seasons marching with 2 world class drum corps: The Glassmen in 2012 and Blue Knights in 2013 and 2015. Evan was on staff with the Columbus Saints from 2018-2020, and is returning as System Administrator to help grow the Saints technical infrastructure.

TONY MYERS II

Percussion Caption

Tony is the former Ensemble Director of Alliance Indoor Percussion and Percussion Director of Tri-West High School, both based in Lizton, Indiana. He is currently the Director of Percussion at Pike High School Indianapolis, while also teaching drumline at various high schools in metropolitan Indianapolis and its surrounding suburbs. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his dogs, arranging music, and playing video games. He currently resides in Indianapolis.

ROBERT GRANDBOIS III

Brass Co-Caption

Robert is excited to return for his second season with the Columbus Saints continuing his duties as Co-Caption head for the corps. Born and raised in Ohio, Robert has spent decades performing and teaching in the area. He marched Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps on Mellophone in 2011-12 and performed with the Ohio Ambassadors of Music European tour in 2013. Robert graduated from Miami University in 2015 with a music education degree studying French horn and student taught under the director of bands in Richmond, Indiana. Most recently, Robert worked with the Westland High School marching band and actively performs with the Dublin Wind Symphony. Robert believes that when a great attitude and technique combine, a musician really shines.

ALYSSA KHOURY

Guard Caption Head

Alyssa Khoury is the new Color Guard Caption Head as of the 2025 season. Alyssa spun with the Saints Winter Guard in 2021 and has since gone on to march with Phoenix Independent Winter Guard and Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. She worked with Toledo’s Woodward HS Marching Band as their color guard director and found that teaching guard was something she’d like to pursue.
Outside of color guard, Alyssa is currently a student at Bowling Green State University studying software engineering and mathematics. In her spare time, Alyssa likes to hang out with her cats, play video games, and make art.

COREY STANFIELD

Guard Tech

Corey is one of the Color Guard Techs for the 2025 Columbus Saints Drum Corps. His past marching experience includes spinning with Northwest High School Marching Band from 2008 to 2015. As well as Cincinnati Tradition in 2015 and, he spun with the Columbus Saints Drum Corps in 2024. More recently, Corey was the technician for the Columbus Saints A Class winter guard for the 2025 season.
Beyond the flag and rifle, Corey has a variety of hobbies that he takes part in. He loves spending time with his cat, Dawn. Additionally, He enjoys exotic animal care, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, attending plays to appreciate the performing arts, and hiking in new areas to connect with nature.


RYLEE BIRKHIMER

Guard Tech

Rylee Birkhimer is a color guard technician for the 2025 Columbus Saints. Outside of color guard, Rylee marches with Rhythm IN BLUE, was previously a high school color guard instructor, and is the assistant director of the Columbus Saints Winter Guard. She has also marched with Tri-Valley High School’s fall and winter guard programs from the winter of 2016 till her graduation in 2020. After graduation, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Muskingum University in May 2024, along with an additional license to teach K-12 Visual Arts.

Outside the world of marching band and color guard, Rylee enjoys spending time with her two rescue cats, Jolene and Ellie. Her other hobbies include reading, learning about science, and practicing various forms of art, including painting, dancing, and singing, to name a few.
